This book is very interesting, and the illustrations are impeccable. While not particularly cheerful, this is a good book and contains a wealth of information about the many corrupt popes and the many and varied atrocities that they have perpetrated. Overall, a good read.
If you are interested in getting down to brass tax on the popes, this book is for you. If you are a closed minded person, this book is not for you. The atrocities of the Catholic Church reach far and wide to the individual who seeks those answers. But the person who doesn't want the truth, or wants to only read bias books that paint a rosy history this is not for you. Also see, "Dark Side of Christian History" by Helen Ellerbe. The Popes reads alot like a text book, it is written in a format that is very easy to read with wonderful picture illustration that help the reader understand. Other books that will help in this field see: Michael Tsarion (all works). Welcome to the Age of Information, where the truth cannot hide anymore!
